Disaster capitalism is a thing. Precarity and job loss in our province is a backdrop that unfortunately shapes practice. Colleagues in our province have paid immense personal cost for standing up Against Surveillance.
Something has been built amidst all the chaos. We now have a sizable community with much stronger hands-on skills, and more importantly a sense of how digital practices have wider effects within higher education.
As much as we may crave a return to “normal”, this year will not disappear. What lessons will we carry forward amidst talk of building back better?
